Feast of Sacrifice

Whoa, looking at those cute innocent faces, imagine putting a knife directly to their throat. Unthinkable, huh? And obviously not easy. But that is what it's all about - sacrificing our own fears, our own needs, our own wants, even our own logic, for the sake of obeying His orders. They're all just a test; a test of whether or not we are willing to do it for Him.

Society often speak of sacrifice for love, as in love between two human beings, mostly between men and women. At least that is what the Bollywood movies have taught us all these while. Although it is not to be ignored, it is definitely not the most important.

It should be to ALlah, our Creator. We're placed on earth for that ONE reason in the first place; to serve Him. He created us, He made us (and everything in the universe); so He has the most right upon us. Whatever He asks us to do, and asks us NOT to do, we are obliged to obey. If He says slaughter your son for Him, we have to slaughter, no questions asked. We're required to pray at least five times a day, not any less, we just do it, like it or not, in every single day, for the rest of our lives. Similarly for the need to cover our aurat, no matter how hideous we feel we look, no matter how badly we want the public to physically see our beauty, we have no choice but to follow the rules that have been detailed out for us.

We have to; try our very best to do it all, do them right, and right away; without postponement. Why? Because He said so. Explanations are unnecessary, we just obey. I'm reminding myself more than my readers here.

Mothers mostly sacrifice their own personal needs for their children. Parents are expected to sacrifice their time for their children. Husbands are required to sacrifice their energy for the sake of providing for their wives and families. Life is ALL about sacrifices.

Here are our pictures during Eidul Adha.
