So-called Retreat

January, 23rd. Last year it was the annual year-end stock take. This year it was a RETREAT for all levels of management of the Company, to brainstorm on how to manage future challenges. A hectic retreat was what it is, really. Hey, they should call it HECTREAT next time, baru kena! :D Looking on the brighter side of it, since it was also my wedding anniversary, we got to spend two nights minus the interruption of our very-much-missed kids (their grandmother had to be flown all the way from KB to babysit). Happy birthday to me as I've reached my 34th year of existence on Earth. God knows how many more years I will have left.

Astaghfirullah, I would want to have a longer life, and it shouldn't be because of not wanting to leave my children behind, although the thought of leaving them mother-less can bring me to tears in a split second; it should always, always be of wanting to do more good deeds, serve Allah better and attend to all obligations under the Islamic teachings. One day, someday... aku akan ikut jejak langkah arwah umi, untuk mendalami lebih banyak ilmu-ilmu yang mendekatkan diri kepada Allah Ta'ala, masih jauh ketinggalan pengetahuan aku. That is my wish, a wish that only I can help to grant and fulfill, not others.

Thank you Ingress for buying a cake for me... that was soooooooooo thoughtful. Even though it was from the hotel, tapi sedap jugak kek tu. And congratulations for successfully embarrassing me with the birthday announcement. Tak kuasa aku melayan, tapi terpaksa. Boring gila. Hehehe.

Oooooohh, the best part of the trip which I enjoyed most was when we rode on that four-wheeled vehicle along the coastal waters. Tremendously fun, fun, fun! I think I reached that few-minutes moment of actually feeling "free". While the men had their beach volley and soccer activities, we decided not to just sit around and be their foolish pom-pom girls. The expensive rate for the rides (RM40 for 15 minutes) did not stop us from trying them out, and we didn't regret it one single bit. But I lasted barely 15-minutes; the hard suspension left my hands trembling and sore. But Kak Farah was the heroine, she went on and on and on, back and forth, back and forth... so I guess she got her money's worth. The ride is going to be a must for our kids soon!
